I need to get a graphics card for my pc so I can run dual monitors. Someone gave me a link to a Matrox Dual card that had dual d-subs on it, but it was only 32mb, it was cheap (ebay) but I wasn't too sure about it.
Do I have to have dual d-subs or can I get a graphics card with a d-sub and a dvi output and then get a dvi to vga cable to then plug into a new monitor.
I'll only be using the dual monitors for web design, not gaming or anything too extreme, but wanted something a bit bigger than 32mb.
nVidia or ATI ?
Any answers to the above or suggestions on what to get for less than £50 would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Norfy

The Dell 30" will run on the Evga GEFORCE 7800GTX 256MB PCIE just fine.
Expensive card, he dosen't need anything like that. He just wants to do some photo editing not any gaming thats why I offered the 6600GT even thought it will run most games.

Got a Dell Dimension 4600 running XP Home, looked inside and there is an AGP slot there and I can make a PCI slot available, by removing something else. It seems as though most graphics cards are either AGP or PCI Express and as I haven't got PCI express I'm guessing I'll use the AGP.
My pc is down at my office so I'll mostly be using it for web design, photoshop, flash etc maybe a bit of video chat with clients and friends.
Q: If I buy a graphics cards that has a vga and dvi output could I then buy a second monitor that has a dvi connection so I can then run my old vga and the new dvi together ?

The 6600 GT I have will run monitors on either output, DVI or VGA and u can get cheap adapters to switch to what ever input you have on your monitors.

I have a PNY FX5200 that's been running for 4 years + now. It's in the kids computer right now and I bought a PNY 6800GT for myself. PNY also has excellent customer support.
As for running two monitors I was going to try and set something up today on my 6800GT. But yes you should be able to run those at the same time. The cards also usually come with an adapter so the DVI will convert to a VGA.
