CVN-77 George H.W. Bush

Today the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) the last of the Nimitz class Nuclear Aircraft Carriers was cristened. Here are some kick ass picks of the newest Aircraft Carrier under construction. Regardless of what you think of the guy its named after, this massive junk of floating steel is amazing.

Thanks for the links. I was stationed one one of these beasts for a couple of yesrs but it is still cool to look at the awesome size of them.

Wasnt the Regan commissioned while President Regan was alive (just not mentally aware)? Think he died while they were in transit to its new homeport of San Diego.

I have deployed on 3 carriers (Forrestal, Ranger, Vinson) Served time on the Constellation and have worked on as a civilian (Kitty Hawk, Nimitz, Stennis, Regan, Lincoln) and visited (Saratoga, Coral Sea and soon the Midway). You could say I have an interest in these monstars. :D

Saw a documentary on the CVN-21 class of Carriers being planned and all I got to say is DAMN. The new class of carriers will be crazy, and use less sailors as the current class.
