I see what you mean. My take on it was how do they know I should be going to bed? Are they watching from a far? If I want to surf the net all night long, so be it. Last night my head hurt, so I watch the Marx Brothers till almost 3 AM. It is my business, indeed normally I would be in bed by now. It must be seeing what are habits are for the site visitation somehow.
I think Drumbo must know what secretts that wee bit of script reveals...
Oi Drumbo.. Leave us kids alone.... All in all you're justa 'nother brick in the wall..
Bluddy intarweb meisters.. gathering useless information through seemingly innocent bitsa script..
pshaw..
Jan.. I gotta admit.. I'm an oldtime web user.. I met the web waaaaay back in 1989.. while sorta on green screen...
Dubious as feck me...
:icon_suspicious:
Jantheman 03-17-08, 05:34 AM Where on earth did you get to see the web at that early date? It would be 1993 before I got a computer with a modem to even sign on...
In the DPM bud.. "Dispersed Pattern material"..(army) I signed up in 1990 and had experience of pooters as a school leaver wummin secretarial thing.. working in places I dont wana go into.. Not serious shit.. but a damned good grounding in the whole technological thiong since that time on.. and have my personal defective acievement of just having a clue.. IYKW IM..
I think most of my posts point to the fact I aint a teenager..
Feck.. I rushed past those years anyway...
Think I was born at 23...
Jantheman 03-17-08, 06:21 AM My computer background was in the vehicles that I serviced. We had to use a scanner to communicate with those vehicles. I was the young guy in the shop at one point in time. The old guys, The Real Gearheads, refused to deal with any damn pooter shit since the electrons might shock them (honestly, that what one of them told me). Then the desktop came to the shop. Then online communications to the main frame in California. Instead of getting TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) once a week, we were getting the info daily, sometimes hourly. It has really changed the way we service our vehicles. Sorry for the long chat here, but it is interesting to know somebody that has seen the changes like I have.
You owd fart jan.. ya kows what I means .. ya just seen it from a different angle..
Long live tangents..
They do align.. just where least expected...
Jantheman 03-17-08, 07:08 AM Amen, Myggz. Owd fart maybe, but not over the hill. Long live tangents.
Tangentially purposed I am.. or mebbe I just see things from a different angle.. fnar.

hahahaha
The shop I go to still has a guy that wants nothing to do with computers. And he's the owner, so nobody tries to convince him otherwise. Still does damn fine work, and his prowess with non-computer mechanical know-how brings him a lot of older car collectors who need their 30's and 40's touring cars spiffed up.
Long live those guys.. just hope the skill is passed on..

th3n00b 03-17-08, 07:35 PM Something happened in this thread. I don't know what it is, but I think we're all better off for it.
Jantheman 03-18-08, 04:37 AM Thread derailed. FNAR. But I learned alot, so all is well.
