Jantheman 03-05-08, 09:37 PM Shocking new reports are claiming that Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze only has 35 days left to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer!
55-year-old Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and a new report claims doctors told him he has five weeks to live and will likely die in 35 days.
The report comes from the National Enquirer, who report: For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful. PS: I hope the Enquirer is wrong on this one. But if he does have this, he is a goner.
mAVERICK1 03-05-08, 09:53 PM That's pretty fookin brutal being told "....oh by the way you only have 35 days to go...". Wouldn't wish this sort of news on anyone. Most cancer patients I've known have been given a diagnosis/ prognosis of at least 6 -8 months / years notice. Swayze is damn unlucky if this proves to be true.
ZeroAccuracy 03-05-08, 10:00 PM It's the enquirer, its false.
Beloved "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread throughout his body and he was given only five more weeks to live, the National Enquirer reported.
Since late January when doctors have detected the illness, the 55-year-old actor and dancer has been receiving radical therapy from Stanford University's advanced cancer center in Pal Alto where he has been flying with his personal plane. However, the three rounds of chemotherapy he got didn't show any results and doctors are not hopeful.
An official confirmation or hopefully a refutation from Swayze or his publicist is yet to be made but a source close to the star said: "He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure.
"It's time to start praying for a miracle."
The shocking article states that Patrick has lost 20 pounds and is on a liquid diet because he can’t keep food down.
According to another source cited by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, the actor appears to be in good health, stating, "Patrick has been at rehearsals for a new cheerleading movie at a Century City studio frequently... and he definitely does not look like he has five more weeks of life left…
"I'm not sure of his medical condition, but, if he is gravely ill, he is hiding it very well."
In early February reports surfaced that Patrick Swayze was hospitalized for a serious "gastro-intestinal procedure" at Stanford Medical center, but his spokesperson simply said he was doing well and no further information was given.

hope its the inquirers usual bs, for his sake.
American actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his agent has confirmed.
His agent said reports that the Dirty Dancing star had only five weeks to live were "completely untrue".
The 55-year-old is currently undergoing treatment and is continuing with his filming schedule, he said.
Swayze, who also starred in the hit film Ghost, was diagnosed with cancer more than a month ago, the New York Post reported on its website.
His doctor George Fisher said in a statement: "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.
"All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue."
Unlikely hit
In 2006, Texan-born Swayze made his London West End debut in the musical Guys and Dolls.
Swayze, who is also a trained dancer, started his career on stage and his big break was playing Danny Zuko in a Broadway production of Grease.
He is best known for his roles in the films Ghost and Dirty Dancing but returned to musical theatre in 2003 when he joined the Broadway cast of Chicago.
Dirty Dancing was a surprise hit in 1987 and still has enduring appeal two decades later.
The movie cost £2.5m to make but took over £90m worldwide, and it went on to become the first film ever to sell a million copies on video.
It won critical acclaim, Golden Globes and the soundtrack topped the charts.
