Sony certainly aims to place their fingers in just about everything audio, hence the PS-LX300USB

turntable that comes with USB output. This unique turntable brings together yesterday's technology

with today's wonders, featuring fully automatic operation of vinyl playback at 33-1/3 and 45 rpm

speeds. In boasts a belt drive system for reduced motor noise and rotational stability, along with a

static balance tone arm with a bonded diamond stylus for precise tracking and low record wear.

Each $150 purchase comes with Sound Forge Audio Studio software for simple professional-quality

audio editing and production on a home computer which could then be played on portable audio

players in MP3 format. The PS-LX300USB turntable will be released sometime next month.

Damn, that's pretty fancy. I know a lot of vinyl junkies that would be interested in this.

All the vinyl junkies I know listen to punk. So they don't need the rotational stability or reduced motor noise. Low record wear would be cool by them though.

I have an older Panasonic Technics Turntable. I have it in storage currently, since the wife listens only to CDs right now. Since we were hit by lightning about four years ago, I have not purchased a new amp or surround sound system to use to play the records. I might have to look into doing that, because my daughters got a gift certificate for me for Christmas.
