Having a problem with Nero

So, I've been having a problem using Nero Recode, but it's only with one file.....and it's been happening for months, always with the same file...always the same results.

I'm trying to burn Halloween to dvd. I've converted the avi file to dvd format using Windows AVI Converter with no problem. I load up Nero recode to burn it, and when I go to import the file, it stops at 91%, saying that the system cannot find the specified file. Every time. 91%.

I've burned many other movies without any problem, and I can't see what the hell would be going on here...so...ideas?

if you converted it to dvd files using winavi then why recode again with nero why not just burn the dvd files to a dvd.

Wow. I don't even HAVE that option. I'm using Nero 6 Ultimate Edition.

I like the paint job.

I know. It's more of a nostalgic thing...I actually went to the store and bought it.

I don't even buy software anymore, as my computer is 4 years old, and i can't run anything from recent years.....

Still runs great, and is suited to my needs, though.

Ever think about using VSO Convertx to dvd? Just a second option... (VSO makes awesome video ripping proggies)

Ok. I hate to keep bringing up problems with Nero here, but something got really fucked up. I downloaded the upgrade to 8.9.1.3 (I'm pretty sure that was it) and now none of my burning programs will recognize my DVD drive. The computer still does, but I can't burn anything. The options on 'where to burn to' always points to 'image recorder', and that's the only option.
What the hell? Anyone?

edit - Fuck it. I removed Nero, then thought about it and realized that everything was fine until I installed AnyDVD. I got rid of that, too, and now everything is ok.

Ahh, the dreaded AnyDVD. I've heard both horror stories and glory stories about that program.

I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite, switched to it after being a Nero/Ashampoo user for some time. I like the program mainly because I can add chapters and what have you to movies, can create a whole mess of video things, built in converter. And a new car! Nah not really, but worth the look.

NERO is a piece of SHIT!!!
Just get a copy of WINAVI and convert the AVI file to a DVD file then burn with that or Intervideo DVD Copy 3. I use those 2 programs and have only had one or two coasters in 3 years.

I see your point, Gulfer, Nero DOES suck at ripping and burning movies. But, I still use it for things like making data dvds. Then I use Alcohol 120% or Power ISO for .iso files, I use VSO Convertx to take avi's into dvd format and then use another program (name escapes me right this second, maybe DVD Decryper or DVD Shrink or something like that) to burn the DVD TS's to the disc. I wouldn't think of using one single program to do everything dvd/cd related.
