Police in the northeastern U.S. state of New Hampshire say a man claiming to have a bomb has
taken hostages at a Hillary Clinton presidential campaign office.
Senator Clinton is not in New Hampshire Friday and has canceled an appearance in Virginia
because of the standoff.
Police say at least two people are being held hostage. The captor released a woman and her child
at the start of the incident, about one clock in the afternoon local time (1800 UTC).
There has been no report on what his motive or demands might be.
Police are stationed outside the building in the city of Rochester with guns drawn and a bomb
squad has been called to the scene.
The nearby office of fellow Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has also been
evacuated, as well as some other offices and a school.
