When you read this news the word ow! comes to mind but luckily for 43-year-old Tatyana Barabanova the baby was delivered by caesarean.
Tatyana Barabanova is a Siberian woman who has just given birth to a whopping baby girl called Nadia who rocked the scales at 17.1lbs at the local maternity hospital in Russia’s Altai region on the 17th September this is her 12th child.
All of Tatyanna’s children have all weighed over 11lbs.
Nadia’s mum said that “We were all simply in shock, what did the father say? He couldn’t say a thing - he just stood there blinking. I ate everything; we don’t have the money for foods so I just ate potatoes, noodles and tomatoes,”
New-born Nadia is even bigger than Mexican baby Super Tonio who caused a sensation in February when he came into the world weighing a massive 14.5lbs.
According to Guinness World Records, the heaviest baby born to a healthy mother was a boy weighing 22lbs 8ozs, in Aversa, Italy, in September 1955.
The average weight for most healthy newborn babies is around 7.06lbs, according to World Health Organisation figures.

That is one big baby! WoW, if she would have had her normally, it would have ripped her open.

My mom never lets me forget that I weighed in at 9lbs 7oz at birth. It's like a sin I have to live down. It's funny to me but apparently it wasn't a joke 33 years ago to her. That number is ingrained in my head after hearing it repeated every time I complained about pain from a hard day at track practice. "You want to know about pain?" she would say. End of discussion.

So what's this kid going to turn out to be - middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears or first women to play for New Zealand's rugby squad the "All Blacks"...or what? Paging Jenny Craig - get your diet cookbook out for this kid. And she's going to be cooking meals for her mother the rest of her life for the 17 pound surprise she dropped in her moms lap - literally.
