Is its wise to drive?

Hey guys, Im heading over to New York in November with some friends and will be over there for 10 days. The idea was to drive from New York on a Monday to Las Vegas by the Friday. Just wondering if thats just crazy?

Not crazy, just hope you guys have enough gas money, and do an oil change and inspect the car to make sure no shit happens during the trip.

300 miles a day is'nt to bad, 4-5 hours driving per day (ish) maybe a little less I think it's around 2500 miles from city to city.

if you take I-70 stop in Glenwood Springs,Colorado. Stop at the brewpub and i'll buy ya some beer for that goddom thing a couple years ago. The mountains are pretty nice this time a year. just had snow today.

Damn, If ya take scenic Route 66 you'll bypass me by about 130 miles. Ya might see Drumbo on Southside of Chicago if ya time it right tho :)

if the driving doesn't pan out, check out flights from southwest. they sometimes have great one way deals for $99 each way. assuming they fly out from where you are at. good luck man!

Brimur, it is not crazy if you have a comfortable car. Fuel concerns, congestion around urban area, state troopers with radar, all these can be bummers. Do you have any buddy to share driving chores? 2500 miles is a long way. The wife and I have driven straight through from Daytona Beach, Florida to Indianapolis, Indiana in fifteen hours before. Average speed around eighty MPH. Mileage will suffer at higher speeds. But, I would say that you will wear out before the vehicle will.

It is never safe to drive in the Unified Stations. 'tis a dark barbarous place filled with Blushing Quidnuncs who lie in wait for the unsuspecting hapless visitor from the MotherLand...
