The second scene 2 planes go by and they look pretty low but than the third goes by almost head level!

I missed the Air Show in Portland this year. But I caught the Blue Angels performance as I was heading back from the beach. They were flying right over the highway I was on. It was so fooking sweet.

Do you know if they plan on switching from the F/A-18 anytime soon?

Navy currently has the super hornet, but there are no plans to transition the Blue Angels to that aircraft yet.

Blue Angels just started switching to the superhornets, the superhornets have been in service for about 5 years now so expect them to stick with it till after the JSF is out for a while

Hmm - FAQ on their website says the decision on switching to the SH's hasnt been made yet.

I know I saw a blue angel's jet with squared intakes about a year ago. probably got yanked for operational reasons
