I'm guessing you've never had the pleasure of coming across a Centipede. They're all over the place here, (mostly in the wild, not so much the city). They move very quickly and even though they are venomous, they aren't really harmful to humans. My buddy got bit by one and he said it hurt like HELL, left him two punctures on his leg. Had to use pliers to rip the damn thing off. Never actually seen one eat a mouse before, but I guess it shouldn't surprise me too much, they can be known to eat bats...

you'll find really poisonous ones in the tropics and their venom definitely can kill a human being.
