pvtpile 04-18-07, 04:39 AM So this chick in the shop wants me to help her with her computer. I say sure (first mistake). I should have run screaming when she told me she had 64MB of RAM huh
So first I want to make sure it will boot with the 256MB slice I brought in. Sure enough boots up just fine. Seems to run fine. FOR A COMPUTER WITH WINBLOWS ME!!!!!! I said I'd help get XP on it. Now I'm wondering if the computer will even meet the system requirements.
HP 6735 (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=ae&docname=bph05973) 633MHZ Celeron. Oh crap...
Sigh...
It meets the requirements. So I tell her it's not going to be pretty but it will work. I tell her that we now measure processor speeds in GHZ and not MHZ.
She than asks me "Can you give me more Hurtz?" :f-rofl-k2: :nutkick: :f-rofl-k2:
so did u punch her in da face and asked if she needed anymore hurtz?
mrspvtpile 04-18-07, 06:58 AM and that is what you get for talking to the damn broad in the first place!

If you can bump her up to 512 or better yet 768 it'll be fine. I ran xp pro on a celeron 500 w/ 512mb for years... hell i still got that computer but now it has debian linux on it.
pvtpile 04-18-07, 07:11 AM I'm not going to go and buy it. Pulled it out of an old box in the garage. I have no doubt it will run I'm just amazed that an Avionics Technician can be this ignorant about computers
Atomicoxygas 04-18-07, 06:50 PM LOL!! that was funny ...... !!
if you think the Avionics tech was worse then you havent met some software engineers i work with. its a sad reality .....not Jon-reality btw ;)
th3n00b 04-18-07, 06:55 PM Fauxreal has the right stuff. it will probably only take a max of 768mb and it sounds like a perfect linux server box.
