You got to remember that the times were different then. People wanted cars that looked like rockets or jets. Harley Earl was in charge and he gave Americans what they wanted. Without him there would be no such thing as a model year. Before a Senator named Moronney, there was not a sticker in the window to tell you the price of the vehicle(!) the dealer set the price(!). Nowdays, styling is just an afterthought for the most part. Fairly boring at all levels. Safety and the government have just about stopped all originality. Thanks for showing us what use to be and could have been.
