I have to admit, as much crap as this winter job of mine is, my boss is one kickass motherfucker of the highest order!
We just basically slacked around for a few hours at the shop, once we finally got there. Transit union is on a pretty much strike effect here, so it took me two hours to get to work..... Didn't matter though, the boss slept in after a nasty hangover, and showed up an hour late.
11am rolls around, we load the delivery truck up with some old broken freight skids, and take them to his place to use in the fire pit. At this point, he goes into the fridge, and finds the greatness that is beer, and we sit around until about 1:15 drinking.
At this point, we figure it's a good idea to go finish the one last cargo run that we had for the day. Go do that, then it's off to the bar, my old watering hole when I was living on the east side of the city, and sit in there until 4, all the time drinking for free :D
Then I got home, found my father-in-law waiting for me, with his new laptop for work. After checking out the one he got yesterday, and finding that it had screen burnout (LCD widescreen, lucked out catching the problems.) This one was a wonderful little case, they gave him a better dual-core, double the RAM, and a built-in camera, as well as an extra 40GB on the drive for $100, over $500 in value, for the inconvenience. I had to pull a fresh Vista Home Premium install on it, since the original install put into the drive at manufacturing was defective, but all seems to be well now. I'll be weeding out the crap from it this weekend, for the low low cost of a case of Corona (free beer is free beer, esp. when he has the limes for it too!), and a damn good burger.
Now, to top it all off, the guy upstairs, who owes me for covering his arse a bit at St. Paddy's Day, is buying me two cases of brew! One for payback for last weekend, and one to do a full case cleaning and a quick software cleanup on his computer.
Best fucking working day ever! Any day when you get to drink on the job, it's a good day!
