I have heard a lot about the Virgin Galactic (http://www.virgingalactic.com/) commercial spaceflight division lately so I cruised over to their website. There is a very cool mini-documentary in HD that is at the intro of the site. I am easily bored but I was transfixed by the badass possibility of a civilian flight into space on their luxury spaceship. Here is a pic of the interior of the ship:

Book your flight now, Noobsters! Click HERE (http://www.virgingalactic.com/) to visit Virgin Galactic's website and see what all the fuss is about.
Maybe we can get a group rate, eh?
Details on the cost are easy to find on the site. Even physicist Stephen Hawking is going! They want everyone to have a chance to cruise into space. And say what you want to about Sir Richard Branson - he's getting things done that no one has ever done before in the private sector with regard to space travel.

Oh, and here is a bit of commerical spaceflight trivia that I discovered a few weeks ago: when watching the film Superman Returns there was a familiar face in the cockpit of the fictional civilian spaceship that Superman rescues. And who was flying that civilian spacecraft in the movie? Why it was none other than Sir Richard Branson himself. I checked the credits at the end of the movie just to make sure.
I bet since the civilian spaceship in the movie goes haywire they asked Sir Richard if he wanted to be in the movie...perhaps to smooth over some potentially negative imagery about his Virgin Galactic spaceship. Too bad Superman won't be there to save Virgin Galactic's craft if something goes wrong in the real world!
