elp! defragging tb drive

anyone know a defrag program that can handle a 2 terabyte external drive and not have a completion date of sometime next year? :(

oooh oooh I know .... Winblows has a built in defragger ;)

Forgive my limited Hardware experience or ignorance, but why don't you just remove the HD from the external case and connect up to a spare SATA/ IDE port on the mobo and defrag like a normal HDD. (Unless you can't remove it easily from the external casing).

Might be a bit easier to adopt than the complex technical advice given in the first 2 posts ;-P

now thats what I need!!! tried Vopt and it crashes and my PC would melt if I tried to install the drive onboard, anyhoo, cheers man/everyone...i'll give this a try.

I tried installing this and had a problem. Immediately slowed my pc to a stop, tried rebooting several times, wouldn't get past loading my personal settings, and ended up having to boot into safe mode and do a system restore. Anyone else have a problem?
