Is this better than Ripit4ME? I know it takes longer than most, but it produces excellent copies...

I'm a complete novice to this DVD rip thing, basically I want to be able to rip a DVD and then burn it back to a blank DVD, what format should I rip the dvd in so when it gets burnt back it maintains quality and size etc ? What software should I use to achieve this. Thanks
