It's funny you should post this. This World Cup year was a wake-up call for me as an American who knew little about soccer except for what my dad (all-american at Brown) had told me countless times. It is the world's game, no doubt, and full of hijinks and hooligans to match. Plenty more crazy pics where those came from but you can't stop what the world wants - and that's soccer. Or should I say football. An elegantly simple game that anyone can play but few can master.

And may I add that I have never, ever had more fun playing a video game on the PC than I have over the past two months with "FIFA World Cup '06". I'm actually in the middle of a game right now (on the PC next to me) and I'm trying like hell to get the US to the championship game. If anyone reading this enjoys sports games then know that I rank this one above Madden NFL and all the rest. You've gotta check it out - skip FIFA '07 and head right for the '06 World Cup version. It is fantastic game in every way (you won't be disappointed) and only adds to my growing fascination with the real-life game whose championship match is the only true World Championship. Why? Because the whole world plays in it.

I hate it cause they call it futbol/football .... its soccer and little kids play till they wise up....
