Well, can he do it? Harrison Ford is 64 and production on "Indiana Jones IV" begins this summer - 25 years after the badass "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have finally agreed on a Frank Marshall script and the great Han Solo / Indy Jones actor wants Calista Flockhart (his super skinny, longtime girlfriend) in the picture. People say he's too old for her - but is he too old to play Indy?
"We did three films that stay within the same block of time. We need to move on for artistic reasons and obvious physical reasons," Ford said. "I feel fit to continue and bring the same physical action."
The follow-up to "The Last Crusade" shows it wasn't the last crusade for Indy after all.
In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Jones' father was played by Sean Connery, who Ford said might also appear in the planned fourth feature.
"He's part of the emotional fabric of these films. I think there may be an opportunity, I believe that Sean is still willing and I'd be delighted if he joined us," said Ford.
Connery has said that no offer had been made to date.
So - does Harrison still have the stuff at age 64? We'll see. For my part I'm betting "Indiana Jones IV" will be a big success and, finally, be the the last of the trilogy (which will have become a quadrilogy). Looks like there will be another DVD box set...
