Game recommendations?

Hey Noobsters!

I just bought a new PC (Dell XPS 410) and I made sure to get my new desktop with tons of memory and a great graphics card so I can play some hi-end games.

My only problem is I don't know what games to get!

Anyone have any game suggestions? Perhaps a "Top 5" or "Top 10" list of your favorite PC game titles currently out? Or just random suggestions, anything. I'm big into gaming but very new to a computer that can handle top-knotch games so I really need some advice on what quality game titles I should have.

What's your favorite PC game? What's the latest, coolest one out there? Please let me know.

Now it should be said that I haven't been on Wolf yet. I know that is the king of games around here but I don't think my DSL line will be able to keep up with online gameplay. Still - I'm going to try as soon as I get this new PC hooked up to the internet...so I'll save those questions for another post. Any replies to this one would be much appreciated!

Halflife 2 is pretty freakin sweet. Also Battlefield 2 and 2142. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is going to be awesome when it comes out. Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is awesome of course and so is Oblivion and GTA Vice City.

I hear that Nuke Dukem 3, or something like that, is pretty neato.

It's pretty hard to find, you'll probably have to go to a couple different stores.

strategy games

Heroes of Might and Magic 5,
WarHammer 40,000,
Company of Heroes,
Civlization 4 - Warlords
Galactic Civlization 2

Played only a couple of them fully but tried out the rest and they all seem very good.....

the warhammer 40k rts games are cool. the battle for middle earth 2, empire earth are both good real time strategy games. Titan Quest is good if you liked Diablo. F.E.A.R. is a good, freaky fps. GTR 2 is a good racer :) Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion is a good 1st/3rd person action/rpg. fable is another good action/rpg. grand theft auto: san andreas. need for speed: most wanted (or nfs:carbon, which should be available now)

and, there is a lot of "extras" in your new dell. if you haven't done a format, reinstall yet, I do suggest you at least go through your add/remove programs list and get rid of some of the "extras" that you don't need.

World Of Warcraft addict right now. Waiting for my Enemy Territory Quake Wars to come out! Hopefully they will finish it and stop pushing back the release date FFS!

Yeah, I ordered my Dell XPS without the "extra" programs and they still threw a ton of them on anyway. Just to be safe I'm going to run Hijack This and a few other things after I'm done cleaning it up. It runs fast - but it'll run faster when I'm done.

Depends what yer into man, RPG's are great fun but slow and need yer attention, sometimes just like to jump into a game a BLAST things

Currently playing Tiger Woods (bit of Chill), WolfET and Neverwinter Nights (fear my half elf)

But all of the above are great, just depends what mood yer in

If you really want to make your system scream, try finding the beta version of Cell Factor.

I enjoy the game of begging for sex...but of course you don't need a Pc to play that

Call of Duty 2 is fucking awesome, I just rediscovered it.

I am thinking about going out early tomorrow (day after thanksgiving sales) and look for a Wii.. and get the new Zelda game..
Wonder if I can find them????
