The fighter pilot of this jet was reportedly grounded for one month for pulling this stunt. He didn't feel too bad about it. "It was worth it," he said.

The pilot in this amazing picture was unaharmed after his bailout. So too were the air show spectators on the ground...and the photographer as well.

close shave on the 2nd pic the 1st looks like a photoshop

I thought so too...but I read the official story that came with it and I believe it is legit.

Check out the air/moisture drag coming from the wings. It seems to match the contrast of the rest of the photo as does the plane (and adds realism).

But you could be right. It would be a stupid (and dangerous) thing to actually do.
