There is a woman in her fifties who lives two houses away from me. She has no less than three of the most expensive video cameras I have ever seen attached to her little house. The cameras have a steel housing protecting them as they oscillate and a Plexiglas cover that the camera inside looks through COMPLETE WITH A MINI WIPER BLADE ON THE EXTERIOR OF EACH ALL-WEATHER CAMERA HOUSING but that's another story. Oh, and she has a 15 ft long US Interstate highway guardrail cemented into the side of her property that faces the alley (it sticks out in the alley and is a driving hazard big-time) and no amount of legal action from neighbors could get her to dismantle it. There were three medieval kingdoms on the shores of a lake.

At the camp of the third kingdom, there was only one knight, with his squire.
This squire took a large pot and hung it from a looped rope in a tall tree.
He busied himself preparing the meal, while the knight polished his own... [Read More]

Eclipse on the Beach As the New Moon's shadow slid across the southern Pacific on July 11, people gathered along the white, sandy Anakena Beach on the north side of Easter Island to watch a total solar eclipse. The experience was captured in this tantalizing composite image, constructed from a sequence of 50 consecutive exposures. At their center is the totally eclipsed Sun surrounded by a shimmering solar corona. From... [Read More]
